Public Administration Ministry Secretary MMPK Mayadunne says that there are more than 100,000 employees who have no role in the public service.
He pointed out that almost 16 lakh people are working in the public service and one third of the public service are labourers, drivers and office workers.
Public Administration Ministry Secretary MMPK Mayadunne further stated that there are people recruited without a specific position in the public service and even if one-third of the existing public servants are not there, the public service can be maintained.
