The four individuals arrested and remanded in connection with the murder of a female physiotherapist in Nuwara Eliya have been produced before the Nuwara Eliya Magistrate’s Court again today (09).
The suspects include the alleged main suspect, his wife, a driver attached to the Kundasale Pradeshiya Sabha who is accused of assisting the suspect and the former Officer-in-Charge of the Menikhinna Police, a Chief Inspector of Police, who is also alleged to have aided the suspect.
The suspects were arrested by officers of the Nuwara Eliya Police and were initially detained under detention orders issued by the Nuwara Eliya Magistrate’s Court to facilitate investigations.
They were subsequently produced before Nuwara Eliya Magistrate Buddhika Harshani Dharmadasa on June 26, following which the Magistrate ordered that all four suspects be remanded until today.
