A cargo plane belonging to Turkish Airlines has crashed at Katunayake Airport while preparing to return.
This is an A.-330-300 Airbus type cargo plane belonging to Turkish Airlines and it arrived at Katunayake Airport at around 09.00 pm on the last 3rd day with a load of goods from Istanbul, Turkey.
It is said that the accident occurred when a container that was brought to be loaded on this plane was parked near the aircraft without proper braking by the airport operators of Sri Lankan Airlines.
It is further stated that due to this incident, the right side engine number 02 of this aircraft has been damaged.
