The Department of Meteorology says that the rainy conditions in the southwestern part of the island today (30) are expected for the next few days as well.

Also, the department mentioned that some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts may experience heavy rains of about 75 mm.

Eastern and Uva Provinces and Mullaitivu District may experience rain or thundershowers at some places in the evening or at night.

The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
