The Department of Meteorology says that there may be some rain in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts today (24).
The department stated that rain or thundershowers may occur in a few places in Central and Uva provinces and Ampara, Batticaloa and Polonnaruwa districts in the evening or at night. The rest of the island may experience mainly rainless weather.
The Department of Meteorology asks citizens to take the required precautions to lessen the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
