The Department of Meteorology says that some rains may occur in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts today (22).
The department stated that there may be rain or thundershowers in a few places in the Central, Uva and Eastern Provinces and in Mullaitivu District during the evening or at night. The rest of the island may experience mainly rainless weather.
The Department of Meteorology further stated that the winds blowing from time to time in North-Central and North-West provinces and Hambantota district can become strong winds between 40 and 45 kilometres per hour.
