The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thunder may occur in many parts of the island today (12) in the afternoon or at night. The department stated that some places in Uva, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Eastern provinces may experience heavy rains of more than 75 mm.
Galle and Matara districts may experience rain from time to time in the morning and some rain may occur in the coastal areas of the Western Province. The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
