The Department of Meteorology says that today (26) there may be occasional rain in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
In Sabaragamuwa province, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Kalutara districts, heavy rains of more than 50 mm may occur in some places.
The department also mentioned that in the rest of the island, rain or thundershowers may occur at places in the evening or at night.
The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
