Ranjan Ramanayake, the former Member of Parliament who is serving a prison sentence, has sent an affidavit to the Supreme Court asking for forgiveness from the court.
He has stated through the relevant affidavit that he will refrain from making insulting statements to the judges and the court in the future.
Meanwhile, Minister Harin Fernando says that he strongly believes that Ranjan Ramanayake will be released today (26) or Monday.
