The Department of Meteorology says that some rains may occur in Galle, Matara and Ratnapura districts today (09). The department stated that some rain may occur in the Western Province and Kegalle, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
In the Eastern and Uva Provinces and in Mulativu District, there may be rain or thundershowers in a few places during the evening or at night, while the rest of the island will be mainly without rain.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
