The Minister of State for Women and Children’s Affairs; Geetha Kumarasinghe said that steps will be taken to provide formal training for preschool teachers in order to boost early childhood development. Also, the state minister mentioned that the government has focused on providing a salary for pre-school teachers.
The Minister of State for Women and Children’s Affairs Mrs. Geeta Kumarasinghe expressed these views while joining the news conference held at the Presidential Media Center yesterday (25) under the theme ‘One way to a stable country’.
The state minister said that when starting a pre-school, it should be done under some legal framework, the pre-school teacher should be a graduate and they need their own specialized training.
