Today (26th) in Uva province and Ampara, Batticaloa and Polonnaruwa districts there may be rain or thundershowers in a few places in the evening or at night, says the Department of Meteorology.
The department mentioned that there may be some rain in the Western Province and Ratnapura, Galle and Matara districts. The rest of the island may experience mainly rainless weather.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
