Police said that on Monday night in Orugodawatte, a 34-year-old man who has been identified as the brother of social activist Dan Priyasad was brutally murdered.
According to Wellampitiya police, the 34-year-old guy was killed beside the Orugodawatte overpass by two armed strangers who arrived on a motorbike.
Prakash Thilina Kumara, a 34-year-old inhabitant of Kalansuriya Lane in Wellampitiya, Methotamulla, has been named as the dead.
According to the police, the victim was the brother of social activist Dan Priyasad.
According to the authorities, the victim frequently spent the evenings with his pals close to the Orugudawatta overpass. He was reportedly on judicial bail after being imprisoned for recently using sharp objects to seriously injure multiple individuals.
Police are looking into the murder, but no suspects have been apprehended.
