President Ranil Wickramasinghe said in an interview with a German television channel that Sri Lanka is not ready to conduct an international investigation regarding the Easter Sunday attack or any other matter.
The President said that the Western media’s attitude of treating Sri Lankans and Asians as second class should change and questioned whether such international investigations have been conducted in the United Kingdom or Germany.
The President also mentioned that he does not accept the report of the Geneva High Commissioner for Human Rights on Sri Lanka.
Answering the questions asked by the German journalist, the President said that he took over the country to end the famine in the country and that the economy started functioning this year and it has not even been a year yet.
Answering the journalist’s questions regarding the Channel Four video, President Ranil Wickramasinghe asked why the Channel Four video is considered so sacred. The President also said that the majority of Britain does not think so.
The President said that he is working with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference and that he has given the complete details of the Easter Committee report to the Bishops’ Conference.
Addressing the journalist, the President added that he has worked with television and media by saying “I have been in the game for a long time before you.”
