Former Inspector General of Police C. D. Wickramaratne, President Ranil Wickramasinghe has decided to extend service for another three months. It is further stated that the relevant appointment has been made by the President subject to the approval of the Constituent Assembly.
This appointment has been made after a period of 14 days without an Inspector General of Police.
