Johnny Depp will return to the screen. According to Bloomberg, Johnny Depp, who made news last month when he triumphed in a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, is making a comeback in the role of La Favorite, a French historical drama. King Louis XV, who governed the nation from 1715 until 1774, will be portrayed by Depp.
After 15 months in theaters, Netflix has bought the rights to watch “La Favorite” in France. According to the Bloomberg story, the streamer is not authorized to broadcast the movie outside of France. The nation will see the 2023 release of the Maiwenn Le Besco film.
In the multi-billion dollar blockbuster fantasy adventure “Pirates of the Caribbean” film franchise, Depp was previously speculated to return as Jack Sparrow. According to reports, the franchise’s creator, Disney, had also apologized to the actor and had made the actor a $301 million return offer.
However, a spokesman for the actor later refuted the rumor in an interview with NBC News. They declared, “This is a lie.”
Depp’s return to the big screen will probably spark debate. Heard accused him of torturing her both physically and emotionally while they were together. Heard and Depp first became acquainted in 2009 while performing opposing roles in “The Rum Diary.” They wed in 2015 after a four-year relationship.
The next year, Heard sought a divorce from Depp and secured a restraining order against him. Depp filed a libel lawsuit against News Group Newspapers in 2018 after the company’s newspaper The Sun referred to him as a “wife-beater.” After the court deemed Heard’s accusations to be “substantially accurate,” Depp went on to lose the case.
How ever despite all these event finally Johnny Depp will return to the screen.
