The government is focusing on simplifying the visa system currently implemented by the Department of Immigration and Emigration.
Accordingly, according to the current regulations in Sri Lanka, three types of visas are issued in Sri Lanka namely, arrival visa, residence visa and transit visa, and among them, it has been recognized that the methods of issuance of the two visa categories, arrival visa and residence visa, are complex.
Due to this, the Ministry of Public Security has decided to review the visa system of this country by considering the visa systems in place in countries with more foreign attraction and it is further stated that the Cabinet Minister’s proposal to simplify the existing visa system has been approved by the Minister of Public Security.
