Sri Lankan fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera has lost the opportunity to play in this year’s Asia Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament.
The Sri Lanka Cricket Institute stated that he has lost this tournament due to an injury to his left leg that he suffered during training.
Accordingly, the cricket selection committee has taken steps to replace him with fast bowler Nuwan Thushara in the Sri Lankan squad for the Asia Cup tournament to be started in the United Arab Emirates from the 27th.
Meanwhile, Dinesh Chandimal, Nuwanidu Fernando and Nuwan Thushara who have been named in the squad have been named as additional players, so the three of them will not leave the island with the Sri Lankan team on the 24th, the cricket agency said.
