The former president of the United States, Donald Trump, appeared before the criminal court in the capital of Washington. Trump has been charged with 4 counts of refusing to accept the results of the 2020 referendum, inciting supporters, disrupting the work of Congress and attacking the Washington Capitol Building (US Parliament).
Trump lost to the current US President Democrat Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election. Rejecting the results of that referendum, Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol building on January 6, 2021.
Appearing before the Barrett Petriman court in the capital of Washington, Trump was presented with 4 charges, and he pleaded not guilty to those charges before Judge Moxila Upadaya.
Escorted by lawyers, Trump had arrived in his private jet from his home in New Jersey to the E. Barrett Petriman court in Washington. The police had taken steps to strengthen security around the court building. It is also said that Trump is scheduled to appear before the court again on August 28. (Reuters)
