US Ambassador Julie Chung says that she discussed with the US-Sri Lanka Business Council on how to further develop cooperation between Sri Lanka and US businesses.
The ambassador states in a Twitter message that about 180,000 Sri Lankan workers are receiving help from US-Sri Lanka bilateral trade.
She mentioned that America contributes billions to the economy of Sri Lanka through the export of goods and that America has the ability to double support for programs such as providing financial assistance to small and medium scale businesses, providing seeds and fertilizers to farmers, providing public financial management training and educational exchanges.
It is also stated in her Twitter message that she can further support the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund.
