Binance Charity, a leader in the crypto market (Block Chain), joined hands with the local ‘Binance Angel‘ to provide rice, sugar, dried beans, lentils to over 1000 families in 30 villages in 3 cities of Kandy district who are affected by the current economic crisis. and donated essential food items such as noodles, valued at 20,000 US Dollar Stable coins (BUSD).
Here, Binance Executive Vice President / Head of Binance Charities Mrs. Helen High said, “The people of Sri Lanka have been going through a difficult few years with the Covid pandemic situation, the collapse of tourism and the current economic crisis. It should be recalled that Sri Lanka’s Binance Angel Ishara played an exceptional role in successfully distributing these essential food items to them. It is sad that people are still hungry even today when there is enough food in the world to feed man. We must commit to ending hunger in this world.”

With around 300,000 active crypto users in Sri Lanka, Binance Angel, representing Sri Lanka, has worked to distribute essential food items to the vulnerable population in the country during the current crisis.

It is special that a large number of families with small children, single mothers, pregnant women, disabled people and elderly are also among the families who received these donations.
This donation for Sri Lanka is an extension of the Fight Hunger Worldwide project that Binance Charity has implemented in Nigeria, Morocco and France. To date, the project has spent more than $100,000 feeding nearly 20,000 people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
