Three suspects have been arrested for assaulting two police officers, including the Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province, Deshbandu Thennakoon.
It is said that three residents of Pitabeddara and Colombo 15, aged 31, 51 and 52, have been arrested.
The police said that the three were arrested by the officers of the Colombo Crime Division under the charges of illegal blockade, being a member of an illegal crowd, violating the curfew, using criminal coercion and obstructing duty.
