The Ceylon Tobacco Company states that the volume of cigarette sales increased by 5% in the quarter ended March 31, 2022 compared to the previous year.
The company’s turnover and government tax revenue increased by 6% during the quarter, according to the financial report for the quarter ended March 31, 2022.
Accordingly, the Ceylon Tobacco Company recorded a turnover of 37 billion rupees for the quarter ended March 31, 2022, of which 27.84 billion rupees was paid as government taxes and 2.58 billion rupees as income tax, while the company’s profit after tax was Rs. 4.18 billion.
