According to Qi Zhenhong, China’s ambassador to Sri Lanka, China would continue to assist Sri Lanka in overcoming its current economic difficulties.
Despite his belief that the present economic crisis won’t endure for very long, he stated that Sri Lanka cannot recover from it over night.
After visiting the Malwathu and Asgiri Maha Viharaya and meeting the Chief Incumbents of the Malwathu and Sigiriya Chapters in Kandy, the Chinese ambassador issued this declaration.
The ambassador stated that despite historical changes in Sri Lanka, the friendship between China and Sri Lanka has remained constant, and bilateral ties between the two nations are still maintained at a strong level.
