State Minister of Tourism Diana Gamage says that an alternative should be introduced to the high cost of foreign alcohol. Accordingly, attending a press conference held today, the Minister of State stated that illegal liquor or Kasippu brewing in this country has increased by 500%.
The state minister further stated that Kasippu in Sri Lanka is similar to vodka in Russia and sake in Japan and if Kasippu can be made according to the standards of Sri Lanka, a large amount of foreign exchange can be found by exporting it.
