The Central Bank has announced a general amnesty period of one month from August 15 to deposit/sell foreign currency in possession of Sri Lankan or resident persons.
In a statement, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka stated that this step has been taken with the aim of attracting the foreign currency held by the public into the banking system.
