Foreign media say that the last glacier that belonged to Venezuela, a Latin American country, is shrinking day by day. It is due to the extreme climate change called El Nino, created by global warming.
Venezuela used to have several glaciers, all of which have melted and shrunk due to climate change. The ‘Humboldt’ Glacier remained in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, 5,000 meters above sea level.
It was spread over an area of two hectares but now day by day it has started to melt and shrink. (AFP)
