The Sri Lankan team for the 2024 Twenty20 World Cup cricket tournament has left the island today (14) morning. The vice-captaincy of this squad led by Wanindu Hasaranga has been assigned to Charith Asalanka.
Speaking to the media yesterday (13), Sri Lanka T20 captain Wanindu Hasaranga said that he planned to leave the island about two weeks before the start of the tournament to face the tournament with good preparation.
He pointed out that due to the lack of proper understanding of the pitches in the United States of America, which is the co-host country of the tournament, it is imperative to leave for that country many days before.
