The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thundershowers may occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and Galle and Matara districts today (26). The department mentioned that there may be some rain in Jaffna and Anuradhapura districts.
In Central, Uva and Eastern Provinces and in Polonnaruwa and Mulathivu Districts, there is a possibility of scattered rain or thundershowers during the evening or night.
The Department of Meteorology urges the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
