The Department of Meteorology says that on this day (25th) scattered rain or thundershowers may occur in many parts of the island after 1.00 pm. The department stated that some places in Sabaragamuwa province and Galle and Matara districts may experience heavy rains of about 50 mm.
Foggy conditions may prevail in some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces in the morning. The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
