Chairman of Welfare Benefits Board Jayantha Wijeratne informs all the beneficiaries who have not opened bank accounts to receive ‘Aswasuma’ welfare benefits to open their bank accounts as soon as possible and get benefits without delay.
He points out that due to the non-opening of bank accounts as scheduled, 156,261 beneficiaries are unable to make payments.
He has mentioned this in the discussion held at the President’s office recently with the relevant parties including the Welfare Benefits Board, headed by Minister of State Shehan Semasinghe.
