The Department of Meteorology says there may be several periods of rain in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (25). The department mentioned that there may be some rain in the northern province and there is mainly no rain in the rest of the island.
The Department of Meteorology has further informed that in the western slopes of the central mountains, in the northern and north-central provinces, in Monaragala, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts, the winds blowing from time to time may become strong winds between 40 and 45 kilometres per hour. The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
