The Department of Meteorology says that there may be scattered rain or thundershowers in the Eastern, Uva, Northern, North-Central, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces today (23rd) in the evening or at night.
The department mentioned that heavy rains of more than 50 mm may occur in some places and rain or thunder may occur in a few places in the rest of the provinces during the evening or at night. There is a possibility of rain in the morning in the Western Province and Galle and Matara districts.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
