While the Ministry of Finance has suspended the recruitment of employees to government institutions, it is reported that preparations are underway to recruit a large number of security guards and drivers to an authority belonging to a major ministry. It is also said from the same sources that the ministry to which the relevant authority belongs has informed the ministers of the government to send two names each among the employees who will be recruited in this way.
It is also known that there is a large number of redundant employees in that authority. In spite of that, the employees of that institution also mention that recruiting new employees in this way is a serious problem.
In view of the serious economic crisis faced by the country, the expenditure of government institutions including ministries and departments has been severely limited, and their recruitment has also been suspended by the Ministry of Finance. (Lankadeepa)
