The Department of Meteorology says that there may be occasional rain or thundershowers in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces today (22).
The department stated that scattered showers or thunderstorms may occur in Uva, Central, North Central and Eastern provinces and Vavuniya and Mullaitivu districts during the evening or night. Heavy rains of more than 50 mm are possible in some places.
The Department of Meteorology urges the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
