The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thundershowers may occur in many parts of the island today (22) after 1:00 p.m. The department stated that there may be rain or thundershowers in the morning in the Western, Southern, Northern and North Central provinces.
Some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Central, Eastern and Southern provinces may experience heavy rains of about 100 mm. The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
