The Department of Meteorology says that some rain may occur in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts today (21). The department stated that rain or thundershowers may occur in a few places in the Mullaitivu district during the evening or during the night.
The rest of the island may experience mainly rainless weather. The Department of Meteorology further stated that the winds blowing from time to time in the western slopes of the central mountains, in the North-Central and North-Western provinces and in the districts of Trincomalee, Hambantota and Monaragala may become strong winds between 40 and 45 kilometres per hour.
