The Department of Meteorology says that some rains may occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (16). The department mentioned that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva and Eastern provinces during the evening or at night.

The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
