Mujibur Rahman, the Colombo District Member of the Samagi Jana Balavega, who resigned from the position of Member of Parliament in order to compete in the local government elections, has decided to resort to court action with the aim of regaining the position of Member of Parliament. Mujubar Rahman told a major newspaper in Sri Lanka that if the local government election is not held, he should regain the position of Member of Parliament.
He also said that he is discussing with his lawyers to submit a petition to the Supreme Court. He said that he resigned from the post of a councillor to run for the post of mayor of the Colombo Municipal Council and added that the government has postponed the local government elections indefinitely.
