The Department of Meteorology says that some rains may occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (15). The department also mentioned that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva province and Ampara and Batticaloa districts in the evening or at night.
The Department of Meteorology has further informed that the winds blowing from time to time in the Northern and North-Central provinces and Puttalam, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts may become strong winds between 40 and 45 kilometres per hour. The Department of Meteorology also exhorts individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
