The Department of Meteorology says that favorable atmospheric conditions are being created for the occurrence of thunderstorms in the evening in many parts of the island.
The department stated that rain or thundershowers may occur in many parts of the island during the evening or at night.
Some places in Uva, East, North-Central, Central, Sabaragamuwa and North-West provinces received mm. Heavy rains of more than 100 are also possible.
The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
