The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thunder may occur in many parts of the island today (13) in the afternoon or at night. The department stated that some places in Uva, and Central and Eastern provinces may experience heavy rains of more than 75 mm.
In the coastal areas of the Western and Southern Provinces, some rain may occur in the morning, and in some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces, foggy conditions may prevail in the morning. The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
