According to President Union Director General Saman Ratnapriya, President of the Government Nursing Officers’ Association, the Treasury has agreed to give appointments to all trainees recruited for nursing training in 2018.
The Ministry of Health recruited 2518 students for nursing training in 2018, but due to the country’s financial instability, the Treasury had initially decided to appoint only 1000 of them.
However, upon the request of the nursing students and their parents, the Union of Government Nurses intervened and presented the matter to the Ministry of Finance, the Minister of Health and the President, and the Treasury has agreed to give appointments to all the trainees recruited for nursing training in 2018.
