The Department of Meteorology says that there will be some rain in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today. Few rains may occur in the North-West Province.
In the Uva province and Ampara and Batticaloa districts, rain or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the evening or at night.
The Department of Meteorology has further informed that the winds blowing from time to time in the western slopes of the central mountains, in the northern and north-central provinces and in the districts of Puttalam, Hambantota and Trincomalee can become strong winds between 40 and 45 kilometres per hour.
