According to the Department of Meteorology, Cyclone Michaung, which was in the West-Central Bay of Bengal, will move northwards and make landfall on the coast of South Andhra region by 1130 hours today, December 05.
The department stated that there is a chance of rain in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, South, North-West and Northern provinces.
After 1.00 pm in the rest of the regions, scattered rain or thundershowers may occur, while in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and Uva Provinces, foggy conditions may prevail in the morning.
The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
