Today (02), the Department of Meteorology says that there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms in many parts of the island after 2.00 p.m.
The department stated that in some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces, Galle and Matara districts, heavy rains of more than 75 mm may occur.
In the Eastern Province and Hambantota and Jaffna Districts, rain may also occur in the morning, and some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva Provinces may experience foggy conditions in the morning.
The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
