Under the second week of the National Super League cricket tournament, the Galle team led by Ramesh Mendis managed to record a 10-wicket win against the Kandy team, which was undefeated in the first week, in the match held at Colombo P. Sara Oval. This victory marked the second consecutive win recorded by the Galle team in this season, with a full day left in the game.
It is notable that the Galle team was defeated today by the Kandy team who managed to record a huge victory by innings and 279 runs against the Colombo team in the first week.
As Kandy was limited to 198 runs in the second innings, the goal team’s winning target was 123 runs and the goal team managed to score without losing anyone. Sangeet Kure, who scored 132 runs in the first innings for the goal team, became the pilot of the victory by scoring 75 runs in the second innings.
