A strong earthquake occurred on the Iran–Turkey border. The earthquake was recorded as 5.9 on the Richter scale. It is reported that four people died and 122 people were injured in the earthquake.

Iran is located on a tectonic plate boundary. Hence, the occurrence of earthquakes is natural. Deaths and injuries are reported in the Iranian city of Khoy. It is said that many houses in the city have been destroyed by the earthquake. (Reuters)
