The Chinese research ship Yuan Wang-5, which caused controversy between India and China, has arrived at Hambantota port.
It is stated that this ship has arrived at Hambantota port on the permission given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
India expressed strong displeasure regarding the arrival of this ship and in view of the controversial situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had requested the Chinese authorities to postpone the visit of the Chinese ship to this country on the 10th.
However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has given official permission for the ship to arrive at Hambantota port today and the ship is to be anchored at Hambantota port until the 22nd to provide basic facilities including food and fuel.
