The Madiwela filling station was struck by a jeep, critically injuring the pump operator and seriously damaging a three-wheeler, two motorbikes, and a pump. The pump operator has been admitted at Colombo South General Hospital, Kalubowila.
According to the authorities, the driver of the car accelerated into the gas station rather than applying the brakes. Following the accident, the filling station’s office has also sustained damage.
The driver of the expensive car was detained, and yesterday evening he appeared in court. Police in Mirihana are still digging the circumstances.
